Is Human Rights Abuse Involved With China Export Product?

In modern business, multinational purchasing, global sourcing, the online market, the b2b market, and numerous suppliers online have combined to greatly improve the cost and efficiency of doing business in the global economy, however, these business practices also must be done with caution. China export product is one example. China export product offers a great business opportunity for businesses around the globe, but public image plays an important part of the success of any business, as Kathy Lee Gifford proved. Global sourcing and multinational purchasing in the online market with suppliers online means that you are no longer buying from a neighbor in your town, or even in the same country. The online market has made global sourcing, multinational purchasing, and b2b markets possible, however it has also made it harder to verify manufacturing conditions of products received by global sourcing and multinational purchasing because of the country differences between suppliers online and business customers. This means care should be used when global sourcing and multinational purchasing on the online market by any business.

China export product normally does not involve human rights abuse, but global sourcing and multinational purchasing of wholesale products from China should be done only after verifying the important information about the suppliers online, as well as the manufacturers, in the online market for China export product. Wholesale products from China represent a fantastic business opportunity, but as with any business opportunity it should be thoroughly checked before used. China has been in the news in the past for human rights abuse, but in recent years the nation has corrected these problems. Global sourcing and multinational purchasing from suppliers online for wholesale product from China today is almost completely safe, with no human rights abuse to tarnish the image of a business purchasing China export product.

China export product can greatly increase the profits and cut the costs of your business, but it is important to know the suppliers online that you utilize for the multinational purchasing of wholesale products from China, to ensure no China export product you purchase for your business has been manufactured in violation of human rights.

How to buy and export a Japanese used car

Japan has been a rich source of used cars for many years and each day thousands of people buy a used car direct from Japanese car auctions. The benefits are many:  Good quality, reliable, economical and famous Japanese brands such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi.   Low milage. Most cars come with less than 100,000 kilometers on the clock  Good condition. Regular servicing and repairs due to strict Japanese Government safety checks.   Many options. Many owners choose several options, so your car will come feature packed.   Cheap! Cars can start at auction for 1 yen, although you’ll probably pay a little more than that!  And more. . . In this article I’ll cover the following points to help you understand the Japanese used car market and make a more informed choice about buying a car for export to your country. Japanese used car dealersThe buying and importing processJapanese used car dealersThe process of buying and importing a used car has become much easier with the advent of the internet. There are thousands of dealers throughout Japan and around the world who have websites offering cars they have in stock, or offering a custom car search service where they take your specifications and search the auctions until they find a car to match your exact needs. There is a wide variety of export car dealers. Some dealers are huge organisations dealing with large volumes of cars while others are single entrepreneurs who run their own businesses. Of course the larger a company the bigger the overheads and so probably you’ll end up paying slightly more in dealer fees, but you get more security from dealing with an established business. The choice between price and reliability is yours. The Japanese Government recognised JUMVEA (Japanese Used Motor Vehicle Exporters Assosciation) maintains a member list of companies which “was created to address this problem [of poor quality cars and dealers], being composed of used car exporters of excellent credentials and high credibility” JUMVEA website. Their aim is to give membership to those companies which show their reliability and service over time, so if you are particularly worried about trust then look for a company with this accreditation. You can check the list of members on the JUMVEA website, and accredited members will proudly display their membership on their website. However not many companies have JUMVEA membership so before buying from a non member do the following checks:  See if the exporters bank details are listed on the website  Call the company at least once to ask about any questions you may have. Bona fide companies will have no problems with talking to you over the phone, although be patient with their English abilty!  Ask for testimonials  Check the quality of response to your enquiries. If the dealer is obscuring or dodging an issue then move onIn general use your common sense and if something is suspicious or dosent feel right then don’t proceed and find another dealer. The buying and importing processCheck your country’s lawBefore importing check your country’s rules for importing used cars to make sure you are allowed to import the car you want. Most countries have liberal laws and are mostly concerned with emissions and safety standards. However these can add extra to the cost of importing so make sure you research the compatibility of the model you want with laws in your own country. If you choose a car which is way outside the limits then you could be spending a large amount to make it conform. Check with the dealer and your local department of motor vehicles if in doubt. You don’t want to be left on the docks with a bill for several thousand to make the car conform before you can take it home!Sending the requestIf the dealer has a stock of cars you can request on shown on their website in which case you will know the price and details of the car. However if you are looking for something specific then you will have to send the dealer an email describing what you want. Most dealers have some sort of request form on their website. ConfirmationIf you are buying from stock then you will usually get a faster confirmation of purchase. If you request something else then the dealer will have to search for what you requested at an auction and send you details of prices and specifications. It is then up to you to confirm or ask for a different model etc. PaymentOnce you have decided on a car and price you will be required to pay for it. Methods and amounts vary by dealer. Some dealers require you pay 100% upfront with by bank transfer (or telegraphic transfer T. T. ) before the car is bought at auction or readied for shipping. Others require a less amount as a deposit and then a balance on completion of purchase at auction or when the car is ready for shipping. You may feel nervous sending money to a foreign country and unknown company so you should be sure of the dealers trustworthiness before you enter into a contract or send any money. You can do this by checking to see if the dealer displays a company registration number and address on their website, then ask the Japanese embassy in your country for confirmation – although this may take a long time and cost you extra. You can also check the bank account. Japanese banking laws are strict when it comes to monetary movements and bank accounts. All registered businesses are required to have their accounts under exactly the same name that they registered their company. If you are buying a used car online from Japan and the name on the bank account is different from the name of the trading company, or if its an individual, then you should investigate more. DeliveryDelivery times will vary according to distance and number of ships to your country. Here is a rough guideline. Russia and Hong Kong: three daysNew Zealand and Australia: three weeksRest of world: between four to six weeksThere may be other times to include in the delivery period such as a deregisteration certificate for the Japanese owner which shows the car has been sold by him, and finding a space on a boat to your port. These extra processes can take up another four to six weeks. ArrivalYour car has arrived at your port and now you have to pick it up. Take the documentation which the dealer sent you to a shipping agent who will arrange the offloading of the car from the ship. Depending on your country’s laws you may have to pay import tax, licence the car, get car safety tests done, and insure the car. Now your car is legally imported and in your hands. Drive home carefully!SummaryIn conclusion buying and exporting a used Japanese car is fairly straightforward, and can save you a fair bit of money compared to buying a car in your own country. Choosing a reputable firm is probably the biggest priority to ensure a smooth transaction, and you should be aware of any extra costs your government may impose to make the car conform to safety and emission standards. For more information please visit the Japanese used car exporter portal. Includes detailed information, dealer directory and car reviews.

Sourcing Guide For Developing Export Products

A key success factor in any export business is clear understanding and detail knowledge of products to be exported. Before starting marketing effort and contacting prospective buyers, one must be ready with a detail sourcing guide that documents all necessary information about your product basket. We shall identify key elements of a sourcing plan and how to document them in this article. Whether you are exporting first time or been in export trade for a long time – it pays to be methodical and systematic in your approach. Its not enough to have all necessary data ‘in your head’ – but equally important is to put everything on paper in a structured manner. Once you have done that – it becomes easier to find the gaps in your knowledgebase and take necessary corrective actions. Preparing Product Portfolio Once you have zeroed in to a set of products – next step is to prepare a profile or dossier for each selected product. The dossier should contain all information about the product – its sourcing, packaging, pricing, selling etc. Together, these dossiers will comprise your product portfolio. I have prepared a sample checklist for preparing product dossier. Please add and subtract to arrive at your own. Product Name Availability : Where available at competitive price Description : Short and snappy Image/photographs – Specially for handicraft/beauty products Specifications – size, volume, weight, materials Quality standards Packaging – unit pack, carton pack, packaging materials Market Price Suppliers – names and addresses of most suppliers Competitors Target Countries – Some Market research required Various overhead costs like packaging, labeling, transportation, logistics, port charge etc. Your profit margin Selling price (FOB and CIF) Minimum Order quantity Discount scheme for volume buyers Agency/distribution commission It is strongly advised that you complete above homework before starting your marketing effort. Even if you are an experienced hand and know all these well – there is no harm in putting this knowledge on a piece of paper. You can improve a lot by introspecting and re-writing your thoughts. Remember, God is in detail – success of your plan depends a great deal on how much care you take on small details. Do not be a Jumping Joe I have seen many new entrants who either completely overlooked these preparations or planned to do so after securing first order and jumped headlong into marketing only to suffer later. What they do not understand is that even for negotiation – you need detail product knowledge. If your buyer asks for a smaller volume what will be your price ? Your negotiation is bound to fail if your buyer does not get precise and fast response and gets dissatisfied with your answer. Be Nearest to your Supplier Success depends a great deal on what price you can offer to your buyer. As your selling price depends on sourcing price, try to avoid unnecessary middlemen who only add cost but no value. By avoiding middlemen and sourcing directly from supplier – you not only cut transaction cost but also get greater control over product quality and timely shipment. Identify Competitive Sources One can source almost everything from major cities like Delhi or Mumbai. However, in most cases, these products reach cities from hinterland through layers of middlemen, each of whom add a transaction cost. To be competitive – one should identify direct sources rather than middlemen. Keep in mind geographical pockets that have excelled in producing low cost products. For example, if you are trading in glass beads you should be as close to two major bead producing pockets in India – Purdalpur, a village near Agra, Uttar Pradesh for North India and Papanaidupet, a village in Andhra Pradesh for South India.

Japan’s Auto Exports to Reach 7 Million

The year ending 2009, Japanese automobile manufacturers are expected to register 7 million auto units in exports, the highest ever exports by the country in 23 years. This feat would be possible due to the rising demand for automobiles in the Gulf nations and South America, and other countries, reported the NikkeiThe graph below shows Japan’s exports from 1997 through 2007.
The news comes at a time when the North American auto industry is up against tough times with declining production and sales. The US market is particularly hit with the May 2008 auto sales down by 14%. As I had covered earlier that the Canadian auto industry also grappled, but the outlook was to get brighter by the end of 2008. A recent report from the Conference Board of Canada projects that the Canadian automakers’ efforts to reduce costs would cut losses by $430 million and would help it to earn a profit of US$155 million this year. The projections further note that though the Japanese auto industry exports to North America would decrease by 8%, it would make up for it by exports to other regions. Moreover, these projections are also in contrast to the reports of the expected fall of 26% in pretax profit for the Japanese auto industry including the auto part manufacturers. The forecast is welcome for Japan for sure, but possible appreciation in Yen and increases in raw material costs would also affect how the industry actually fares? The contribution of the Japanese auto industry to the country’s economy is large. Not only does the industry accounts for 10% of employment, but also contributes over 10% to the output of the manufacturing sector.

The Bread and Butter of Importing and Exporting

We all know that importing and exporting is a very important part of our global economy. Without successful import and export businesses, many of the products we enjoy in our lives would not be around and many of the cars we drive would not have the privilege of experience the lead foots that accelerate them.

Yet there are certain aspects of the importing and exporting business that need to be followed in order for it to be a success. You can’t put the butter on the bread if there is no bread, so what you want to do first is make sure you have a solid foundation in which you can build your goals upon. If you research any successful import and export business’s profile, you will find that careful planning in the buying and selling of their product contributed to their success. You need to make sure that your import and export business can answer the standard questions of who, what, when, where, and why?

Another thing you must realize is that there are going to be many obstacles to overcome. So many tend to give up when presented with too many obstacles or through the avoidance of obstacles they are pushing success to the back row. By hitting things head on, you are showing that you are committed and you are knowledgeable about your trade. This is the sort of impression you want to give your clients when they deal with you.

You also want to make sure that you have the government regulations of the countries you are trading with down to an art. The reason for this is because you don’t want to be shut down in that country due to too many violations. This can damage your bottom line and give you a big blow to the success of your businesses international market.

And last but certainly not least, you want to make sure the relationship you have with your suppliers and buyers is a tranquil one. Exporters Need to Counter Rising Rupee

With the ever appreciating rupee, exporters will now have to hunt for alternative ways to keep their goods competitive in the global scenario.

Although the government has given certain sops to cushion the impact, there is apprehension in North Block that too many exemptions can attract the attention of the watchful WTO.

I believe that exporters will now have to adopt alternative mechanisms including forward contracts, shifting to other currencies, and establishing protective clauses in their contracts to safeguard their interests.

Apart from these measures, exporters should do more business with regions like West Asia and the European Union, which will help them to partially nullify the impact of the strengthening rupee vis-a-vis the US dollar.

Even industry bodies including FICCI who had conducted a survey are of the opinion that exporters will now have to look towards the markets of West Asia, Africa, Southeast Asia, the UAE, and the European Union.

Having said that, the government should now focus on improving the factors that can lower the cost of production of goods. Infrastructure is a key sector where the government has to deliver on a war-footing. Improved infrastructure can help in lowering production costs considerably, which in turn will go a long way to give the exporters an edge over other competitors.

China’s Craft Gifts Exports Amount in the the First Three Months of 2008 Down by 7 Percent over the Previous Corresponding Year

China’s US$4-billion craft gifts industry is experiencing a slowdown in export growth rates, as suppliers deal with high rawmaterial and increasing labor costs. Cuts in export tax rebates and the rising value of the yuan are also adding to the pressure.

Confronted by these challenges, export sales and volume in 2008 are foreseen to dip or at least remain at current levels. During thefirst three months of 2008, overseas revenue amounted to US$807 million, down by 7 percent over the previous corresponding year. Involume terms, shipments in the same period went up by a mere 0. 8 percent.

China suppliers offer an extensive array of craft gifts in different materials, with designs made of porcelain and ceramic, polyresin, metal, glass and crystal, and wood constituting the bulk of exports.

Many suppliers of China are optimistic about sales growth, particularly for metal, and glass and crystal crafts. These product categories are enjoying higher demand than others, partly because they have a stronger contemporary appeal and are deemed more environment-friendly.  Despite rising production costs, many suppliers are optimistic about sales growth, particularly for metal, and glass and crystalcrafts.  Gifts & Crafts Products Trends:

While handpainting remains a unique selling point for China-made crafts & gifts, more companies are investing in high-tech equipment, including laser-engraving machines for glass and crystal designs.

With the intensifying preference for “green” products worldwide, environment-friendly designs will be the key trend for China-madecraft gifts in coming months. Plant-based dyes and certified materials with low lead content will be used in greater numbers.

In line with expanding design ranges, most manufacturers will boost their capacity by 20 to 50 percent in the next 12 months.

In detail, the following are some of the key trends we see in China’s crafts & gift industry:

-  Decorative craft gifts such as tabletop figurines, miniature replicas, decors and wall hangings made of ceramic and porcelain, metal, polyresin, glass and crystal, and wood. Functional products such as photo frames, clocks and candle holdersare excluded.

 - The rising cost of tin, wood and clay is likely to carry on through the rest of 2008, forcing the majority of makers to increaseprices. Most companies doing so will cap markups at 5 percent to stay competitive.

   – Designs constructed from combination materials such as wood and metal for tabletop figurines will also be popular in coming months. This technique not only raises the models’ aesthetic appeal but also reduces the product cost.

   – In line with expanding design ranges, most manufacturers will boost their capacity by 20 to 50 percent in the next 12 months, mainlyvia adding more machines and expanding production workshops.

 - Craft gifts made of ceramic and porcelain, metal, polyresin, glass and crystal, and wood. The product scope islimited mainly to decorative models such as tabletop figurines, miniature replicas, decors and wall hangings. It does not includefunctional designs such as photo frames, clocks and candle holders.
Gifts & Crafts Market Opportunities   The line between general gifts and decorative accessories is slowly disappearing, with home furnishings still the dominant category. The home furnishings segment (includes candles, picture frames, tabletop accessories and vases) was valued at US$17 billion.
The most important emerging trend in the general giftware sector is the move away from gifts purchased for another person, to purchases increasingly being for the individuals themselves. Important product segments for self-purchases include: home furnishings, aromatherapy products, art candles, Christmas decorations, lamps, linens/throws and plush toys.
Seemingly unlimited access and exposure to new products, materials and resource markets has made US consumers impatient. As a result, Australian suppliers need to have a steady supply of new designs, concepts and/or products available for their distributors and buyers.
American consumers are increasingly using the Internet for purchases. More importantly, consumers are using it as part of their process for learning about and identifying products for purchases made in retail environments. The existence and accessibility of the Internet to consumers becomes a source of legitimacy for the manufacturer. It also becomes an opportunity to communicate information to receptive consumers. The website should be user friendly, providing easy navigation to product information.
Jewellery in particular has sold well over the Internet. Online sellers are often able to sell at lower prices due to fewer middlemen, lower overheads and a 24-hour store front. A search for the keyword ‘jewellery’ on eBay reveals close to 40,000 items.
US gift convention organisers are the most experienced intermediaries between buyers and wholesalers, and several have launched B2B websites (ie. Americas Mart and Dallas Market Center) designed to capitalise on their existing relationships and expertise.
While most B2B gift industry sites market product on behalf of suppliers, the web is also producing a cyber version of the wholesale distributor — a company in the US that will take ownership of the product and resell it to the retailers. Examples include www. 123giftfactory. com, www. made-in-china. com and Whereoware.

What is the Quality of China Export Product?

China export product is popular these days, in part because of the online market and suppliers online, as well as global sourcing and multinational purchasing. These conditions create an ideal business opportunity, and global sourcing finds the best price while multinational purchasing allows your business to purchase the product from anywhere in the world. These business methods, plus the low cost of wholesale products from China, ensure that a big part of the online market is made up of China export product. Suppliers online offer very low discounted prices for businesses who use multinational purchasing and global sourcing to keep costs down.

The price of China export product is terrific, but what is the quality? Global sourcing will help you find suppliers online that deal on the online market. Once the suppliers online have been located, investigating these suppliers should be the next logical step. Global sourcing can help narrow the list of suppliers online but before multinational purchasing from any supplier on the online market be sure you know who you are dealing with. Just like any other business purchase, whether in the online market or off line market, there are honest business people and then there are dishonest business people.

China export product quality is generally very good, or businesses would not continue to use global sourcing and multinational purchasing to purchase wholesale products from China in the thousands every day. The online market may have a few suppliers online who deal in low quality products, but these suppliers online normally do not stay in business very long. With all the suppliers online that make up the online market, finding quality wholesale products from China at a fantastic price is not a problem, just a matter of global sourcing and multinational purchasing. China export product can create an incredible business opportunity no matter what size or nationality your business is, and global sourcing and multinational purchasing can make your business transactions on the online market fast and easy.
